PETER BEAVEN, conductor, organist, singer, composer and arranger was educated at London's Trinity College of Music. His teachers included, Dr Harry Gabb, Charles Proctor, Bernard Keeffe and James Gaddarn. For many years he divided his time between teaching and freelance performance. Since 1995 he has devoted most of his time to conducting, singing and organ playing (both accompanying and solo playing). His wide musical interests have seen him conduct everything from American musicals to Plainsong. He has 'trod the boards' in opera and recently took the solo organ part in Saint Saens Organ Symphony in a performance at Southwark Cathedral.

He works with organist Carlo Curley frequently and in 1997 produced a highly successful CD of Christmas Music 'Joy to the World'. His arrangements and compositions have been heard the length and breadth of the UK, including St Paul's Cathedral and other prestigeous venues. His most recent commission, now completed, was a setting of the Mass for the Episcopal Church in the USA (ECUSA). He is presently working on a large scale piece 'Requiem', texts drawn from many sources, including the Holy Qur'an. As well as being heavily committed to performance, being Musical Director of Ashford Choral Society and the Peter Beaven Singers and Orchestra, Peter continues to write features and reviews for Choir and Organ magazine
