| | The ensemble was established in 1967 under the name of Vestjysk Kammerensemble, but later the name was changed to Esbjerg Ensemble, more understandable to foreigners. For many years the ensemble consisted of ten musicians - a string quintet and a wind quintet, but from the season 1995-1996 the ensemble was extended with piano and percussion, which as if by magic added to the repertoire.
