Philippine-born Victoria Bragin, currently Music Artist in Residence at the Huntington Museum of Art in West Virginia, was first prize co-winner of the 2002 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs, a competition for individuals 35 years or older who do not earn their principal living as either a pianist or piano teacher. With graduate degrees in both music and chemistry, she has returned to music as a career after spending most of her professional life in chemical education: as chemistry professor at Pasadena City College in California and then as program director in the Division of Undergraduate Education at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA. Even while working in chemical education, she has continued to perform extensively as a soloist as well as chamber musician in the West and East Coasts, including a performance to a sold-out audience in the Marion & Gustave Ring Auditorium of the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC. In the US, she has studied at the University of Southern California, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of South Carolina. Her principal teachers in the US include Aiko Onishi, Frank Mannheimer, Lillian Steuber, James Bonn, and John Kenneth Adams.

The orchestra is a large adult community orchestra, playing mainly symphonic and similar repertoire suited to our large forces.

We rehearse on term-time Mondays, between 7.30 and 9.30 pm, at Ashton Park School, Bristol. We perform three or four concerts a year, each towards the end of a school term. Our regular concert venue is St Alban's Church, Westbury Park, Bristol. We occasionally perform at other venues in and around Bristol.

Jay Britton graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2007 where she was awarded an honours degree with a first in performance for her final recital. She studied with Julie Kennard and Audrey Hyland. During her time at the RAM Jay took part in master classes with singers including Dianne Forlano and Sir Robert Tear.

With the Royal Academy of Music Chamber Choir Jay performed as a soloist in Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, and with the Royal Academy of Music Opera Company Jay performed in the production of Rameau’s Dardanus. In the RAM Opera workshops and Opera Scenes Jay worked on roles including the Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Mrs Grose in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw and Elisetta in Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto.

Jay has already undertaken many solo oratorio engagements. These include the role of Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Little Organ Mass Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, Brahms’ Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah at Queens College, Harley Street and Blackheath Concert Halls with countertenor James Bowman, Arne’s Rule Britannia! with the Eltham College Community Orchestra and Bach’s cantata Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen with the orchestra of St John’s Smith Square and the trumpeter Paul Archibald and the Coffee Cantata.

Jay is in great demand as a soloist for functions, including a solo performance at the House of Commons. Future solo plans include Brahms’ Requiem with the London Primavera Chorus, J. S. Bach’s B Minor Mass with the Royal Academy of Music and Trevor Pinnock at the Spitalfields Festival 2007, and Bach’s Magnificat and Charpentier’s Te Deum with the Eye Bach Choir.

Praised as "masterful" (John Adams) and known for its exploration and transformation of timbre and texture, dramatic intensity and lyrical sensitivity; the music of internationally-performed composer Kirsten Broberg (b. St. Paul, Minnesota, 1979) has been performed widely by ensembles and/or members of ensembles of the International Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Modern, the New York New Music Ensemble, the Fine Arts Music Society, the Contemporary Music Ensemble, Society of Composers, New Music Northwestern, Exposure for New Music, the Ted Mann Musicians, ensemble dal niente, and the University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra.

Broberg's music has won the William T. Faricy award (2005), the top prize for music composition at Northwestern University, grants from the Ruth Wyatt fund (2004-2005), first place in the Accent '04 call for string quartets at the Cincinnati Conservatory (2004), and first place in the University of Minnesota call for orchestral scores (2003).

Her primary instructors have included Augusta Read Thomas, Jason Eckardt, Jay Alan Yim, and Judith Lang Zaimont. Broberg has also studied in masterclass settings and/or individual lessons with John Adams, Bernard Rands, John Corigliano, Christopher Rouse, Chen Yi, Libby Larsen, Kaija Saariaho, Tristan Murail, Alvin Lucier, Brian Ferneyhough, Phillipe Manoury, Simon Bainbridge, David Felder and Charles Wourinen.

Broberg is the co-founder, executive and artistic director of Dal Niente New Music/ensemble dal niente, is part-time faculty at Roosevelt University Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois where she is a doctoral candidate in music composition.

Jules Bromley composes cutting edge content for TV, film, comercials and games. Founder of London dance label Planet Nice Records, Jules started life as a singer and keyboard player, before becoming involved in the London Nu House scene of the late '90's and producing numerous releases for Plaent Nice, Reolution Records, Filter Records. Etc.

His success as a dance producer soon caught the attention of the majors, and he was recruited for remix duties on behalf of Mercury, Emi, Warners, V2 etc., mixing hits for the likes fo Texas, Touch & Go, David Arnold & David McAlmont and Ultimate Kaos. His band Columbos was also singed to V2 Records and charted with their first single 'Rockabilly Bob', with Jules responsible for co-writing, arranging and producing the track.

For the last few years Jules has been honing his skills as a TV and film composer, combining his unique take on dance production, with orchestral arrangements, and traditional orchestration. His music has been used on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Big Brother, Cold Feet, Waterloo Road, Sky Sports to name but a few, and he's recent;y scored a new commercial for Hedex.

ANGELO BRUZZESE holding degrees of Clarinet, Saxophone, Organ, Orchestration, Electronic Music, Composition, Conduction. After a short career as a soloist, he devoted himself mainly to the conduction, alternating concert activity and composition. Active above all in the experimental music, he conducted many first performances of nowadays authors. He has been guest conductor of many Orchestras in Italy and abroad, receiving everywhere consent both of public and of critics. His compositions range from church music to chamber, sinphonic or electronic music, as well as music for ballet and theatre, are performed by many concert companies and are published by “Heiligestadt Verlag”, “Agenda” e “Tactus Fugit”. Among the compositions those were awarded a prize in some competition we want to remember: “MENSURA” for orchestra, awarded in the International Composer Competition of Vienna (1991), “CIRCLES”, finalist score in the competition summoned by the E.U. in 1998 for a large sinfonic orchestra composition, performed during the inauguration cerimony of the new Emicicle of the Parliament of Strasburgo, “ELEGIA” for trumpet, awarded in the 4° International Composer Competition “A. di Martino” – Napoli (2000) Tr-IO for clarinet, cello and piano, awarded in the 1° International Composer Competition “Oggidiane” – Pescara (2003), Redroom for string quartet, finalist in the International Composer Competition “Contemporaneamente” Torino (2006). In 1994 he took part, as a composer, in the 1° national meeting on Electronic Music “La Terra Fertile”, sponsorized by the Ministry of Education where he also took care of the sound direction during the performances. From February to May 1996 he has been musical assistent to the TV director for the Telecom Italia Concerts (RAI 3). He has been jury member in many important Internazional Music Competitions. In 1998 he winned the X Edition of “Gran Premio Internazionale Centumcellae” – music section. He conducted three polyfonic choirs: “Novarmonia” from 1985 till 1991, “Kantor” from 1996 to 2000 and “Ars Antiqua” from 1997 till 2000, with which had an intense concerts activity. He has been a teacher in the Conservatories of Music of L’Aquila, Milano, Venezia, Brescia, Piacenza and Terni. Today he is Conductor of the Music Ensemble of the University of L’Aquila, Guest Director of the Philarmonia Orchestra of Lugansk (UKR), and Music Director of the Sinphonic Orchestra of Civitavecchia.
