Constantinople has a dual vocation as a performing ensemble that draws its inspiration from the music of the Mediterranean, the classical Persian tradition, and Medieval Europe, and as a framework for the study and performance of those musical traditions.

Constantinople provides a forum for cross-fertilization among various musical cultures, both within the ensemble itself and with its guest artists. Constantinople endeavours to consolidate the ties among these cultures by cultivating a unique mode of musical expression a musical vocabulary that has grown out of extensive research into the history and esthetics of the musical traditions into which it delves, combined with freshness and creativity.

Ceilidh band musician - fiddle player - for the last 20 years. Over the last 10 years have led the Scotland Ceilidh Band to success in leading events and national functions including the Shetland Up Helly Aaa Festival and festivals throughout Europe and the USA. Our ceilidh band specialises in wedding ceilidhs and Scottish entertainment for functions.

Scotland's Ceilidh Band is made up of some of the top traditional musicians in our country - accordion, keyboard, drum players, fiddlers, flautists and guitarist. The majority of our team have played in ceilidh bands since they were in 'single figures' and as such can play both by 'ear' as well as being highly competent reading music. The ceilidh bands organisers, Tony and Donald, have both been playing music since they were in primary school and have played together for the last decade and a half. Both Tony and Donald have shared the benefits of their experience with the other band members - young and old - resulting in a consistency of performance whenever Scotland's Ceilidh Band is booked.
