Michael Anthony Nigro showed an interest in the guitar at an early age and began playing by the age of 12. After several years of lessons with local teachers and self-study, he attended the prestigious Indiana University School of Music where he graduated with his Bachelor of Music Degree in 2000 under the direction of Ernesto Bitetti. After moving back to his native Southern California, he attended California State University, Fullerton and earned a Master of Music degree under the tutelage of David Grimes. Mr. Nigro is presently in the Doctor of Music program at Claremont Graduate University studying guitar with Jack Sanders. Michael Nigro’s debut recording, “Homage to Piazzolla; Argentine Dances, Songs, and Rhythms,” is released on the label, Music & Arts. The American Record Guide stated, “Nigro has a big sound, a smooth tone, and sure-footed interpretive instincts.” He is currently recording a new CD, for the Music & Arts label, which will feature the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, Antonio Lauro, Jorge Cardoso, and many other South American composers. As a performer and teacher, Michael has done concerts and masterclasses at many esteemed colleges and prominent guitar societies. In past tours, he has traveled through the Midwest where he performed at the Bloomington Indiana Classical Guitar Society, St. Louis Public Library Concert Series, Oklahoma Public Library Concert Series, and the Kansas Library Concert Series. In the Northwest he has performed at The Jefferson Guitar Society in Ashland, Oregon, Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon, The Maple Valley Public Library in Seattle Washington. On the east coast he has performed at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and the Olin Arts Center at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. In his local Southern California, he has performed at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Long Beach, The Long Beach Classical Guitar Society, several community colleges, and many other local churches and community events. In May-June 2007, Michael is booking his fourth tour and will be performing in California, Nevada, Utah, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. He will be performing his program titled, “Sounds of the South American Guitar.” Michael is an active member of the guitar community; he is co-founder of the Long Beach Classical Guitar Society, independent reviewer of Soundboard Magazine, and sought after teacher and performer. Michael is presently on the faculty at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California where he is the head of the guitar department.

One of America’s dynamic young concert artists, pianist Grace Nikae has been earning broad international recognition for her musical artistry since her debut at age eight as soloist with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and her news making solo recital debut at age thirteen in Kagoshima City, Japan. Hailed for her “poetic and fiery” playing and for her performances of “superb technique and powerful expressiveness”, Ms. Nikae has captivated audiences in North America, Europe, and Asia.

A prizewinner and the highest-ranking American at the 1998 Ibla International Piano Competition in Italy, Ms. Nikae also won the 2000 Artists International Auditions, and was presented in her solo recital debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in 2001 to critical acclaim. New York Concert Review described her as “…a musician able to summon a wonderful modicum of harmonic tension, musical lyricism and architectural coherence…”. Most recently, she received the first prize in piano in the 2002 Sorantin Young Artist International Music Competition. Ms. Nikae’s numerous other awards and prizes include the prestigious 1995 Sterling Scholar Award in Music, the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra Scholarship Competition, the Morning Music Club Scholarship Competition, the Mark Nevin Young Piano Scholarship Award, as well as the Paderewski Medal and the Cliburn Family and Liberace Memorial Scholarships from the National Guild of Piano Teachers.

As a soloist, Ms. Nikae’s extensive recital career has taken her to Canada, Hawaii, Italy, Holland, Spain, Japan, and throughout the United States, including performances at the 1996 National Book Awards Gala Ceremony, as resident pianist at the 1997 Viking Music Festival, at The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC, at the Trinity Church Noonday Concert Series in New York, and at the Muskoka Lakes and Silver Bay Music Festivals. With the concerti of Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff, she has appeared as soloist with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, Kagoshima Philharmonic (Japan), and on tour with the Iolani Concert Orchestra, including a 1995 performance at Carnegie Hall. As an active chamber musician, she has collaborated with the Isadora Duncan Dance Company in New York City, as well as with members of the Boston, Toronto, Harrisburg and Hartford Symphony Orchestras, and the Beijing Women’s Orchestra. In the 2001-2002 season, she completed two highly successful solo recital tours and masterclasses throughout southern Japan, as well as a performance of the Rachmaninoff First Piano Concerto, of which the Ohshima newspaper wrote, “The audience was carried along by a performance that ranged from the softest, most delicate and dreamy sounds to exciting lion-like roars that shook the piano.” Ms. Nikae’s 2002-03 season included solo and chamber music performances as well as masterclasses in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Hawaii, and a solo tour in Japan. Her 2004 season includes major solo and chamber engagements throughout Holland, Spain, Finland, Switzerland, and New York as well as her solo recital debut at the Chicago Cultural Center, broadcast live on WFMT-FM Radio and Channel 25 TV, Chicago.

In New York City, Ms. Nikae was an active educator, and maintained a private studio and was on faculty at The Trinity School in Manhattan. She is also the founder and artistic director of The Renaissance Academy in Hawaii, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing academic and artistic enrichment, and to expanding the educational and cultural possibilities of the Hawaii community. She has studied and played for such esteemed artists as Constance Keene, Robert Shannon, Li Mingqiang, Ronald Turini, Robert McDonald, Oleh Krysa, Jeffrey Solow, William Purvis, Phillip Kawin, and Vladimir Feltsman. Clarinetist J. Michael Norsworthy comprises one half of The Rigadelphia Duo with pianist Inara Zandmane. Most recently presented by the St. Louis Pro Musica, the Duo has performed in Chicago, St. Louis and Carbondale. A recipient of the Chancellor's Research and Creativity Grant at SIUC, they will soon record a compact disc featuring music of contemporary Russian composers including two world premiere recordings. The Duo is also in the process of commissioning composers Ben Sutherland, Suzanne Sorkin, and Kathleen Ginther for the creation and premiere of new works to be performed in the spring of 2000.

Most recently Mr. Norsworthy was first prize winner of the concerto competition held at SIUC. In April 1999, he performed Debussy's Premiere Rhapsodie with the SIUC orchestra. In addition, he also performed as soloist in Scott McAllister's "X" with the SIUC wind ensemble, on their annual tour and at Shryock Auditorium. During the summer of 1998, Norsworthy was selected for the clarinet fellowship in the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble (ACE) at the Aspen Music Festival. As a member of the eight player ensemble, he performed in the U.S. premiere of Mark Anthony-Turnage's opera, "Greek", where the Chicago Tribune hailed the ensemble as having "expertly played …giving the music precision and polish." In addition to his duties with ACE, he also played as a member of the Aspen Chamber Symphony and worked with conductors such as David Zinman, David Robertson, and Sydney Harth.

Mr. Norsworthy has presented solo and chamber recitals in both the United States and Europe. In November of 1994, he performed Nielsen's Concerto for Clarinet Op.57 with the Pottstown Symphony. This was a result of his second place win in the Kathryn E. McPhail Competition. In 1992, he won the Ben and Karlene I. Memorial Scholarship Competition and received honorable mention in the MTNA National Competition.

A former student of Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr at Michigan State University, Mr. Norsworthy was a member of the Michigan State University Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Wind Symphony, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, the Midland Symphony and the Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra.

The North East Recorder Orchestra (NERCO) was formed in January 2004 to give recorder players in the North East of England the opportunity to tackle large scale pieces either especially written for the recorder orchestra or arrangements. There are no auditions but members are expected to be competent sight-readers on the recorder; it is not suitable for beginners. Meetings take place on the 4th Saturday in each month (except August and December) from 10am to 1pm. The venue is the hall of Christchurch*, Shieldfield, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Northumberland Orchestral Society was formed in 1877, and is probably the third oldest orchestra in England that is still active. Rehearsals are held on Mondays 7-30 to 9-30 pm in the music school of Newcastle upon Tyne Central High School, UK. The orchestra usually gives two public concerts a year.

Jaroslav Novak was born on June 24, 1968. He has studied at the Prague conservatory: guitar playing under prof. Vaclav Kucera and composition under prof. Bohuslav Rehor. As a guitarist, he mostly works in recording studios and, as member of the Duo Jers, he became a prizewinner of the competion Young Prague. He has cooperated with Pavla Milcova on her CD "Benighted" and in 1992 came out his own CD in cooperation with flutist Jaroslav Pelikan: "Mlcenlive pribehy II" (Silent stories).

As a composer, he dedicates himself mostly to "sacred rock" and is the author, among others, of a Symphony in E, of two guitar concertos, of several sonatas, of a guitar quartet and more than 250 songs.

Parsifal travels in search of what the others have already forgotten… …True passion for the search of the quality and the interest for rediscovery of works and composers unjustly forgotten, such as Xaver and Philip Scharwenka, Clara Wieck, Fanny Mendelssohn, are the things that unite the members of the Nuovo Trio Parsifal, Barbara Castelli, violin, Laura Pierazzuoli, violoncello and Anna Paola Milea, piano. Since its foundation in 2001 this Trio regularly performs in Italy and abroad, receiving everywhere unanimous approvals of audiences as well as critics. In 2003 they performed in Bucharest at the Italian Cultural Institute. The same year they went on tour to Peru and Colombia upon the invitation of the Italian Cultural Institutes of Lima and Bogotá. During this tour the trio performed in famous venues such as the Teatro Antonio Raimondi in Lima, Teatro Colon in Bogotá, Teatro Fundadores in Manizales. On this occasion the members of the trio also gave a master class at the Escuela Superior de Musica Luis Duncker Lavalle in Arequipa (Peru). The repertoire of the Nuovo Trio Parsifal ranges from classical period to the music of the 1900s including the Italian contemporary music. Barbara Castelli, violinist, born in Milan, she has studied in Cernusco sul Naviglio under master Lucina Invernizzi. She graduated in 1985, then she specialized under master Gigino Maestri and master Ruggero Ricci. She was awarded at important national and international competitions such as “Cittŕ di Sesto San Giovanni” and “Cittŕ di Stresa”. She has taught in several music schools such as “Guido d’Arezzo” in Melzo and Cernusco sul Naviglio music school. From 1987 to 1990 she has played in the Orchestra of the Theatre “Carlo Felice” in Genoa, and since 1990 she has been part of the Orchestra of Santa Cecilia National Academy in Rome. Laura Pierazzuoli has graduated in cello with full marks at Conservatory “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, under Master Giorgio Ravenna and in chamber music under master Marco Lenzi. Richard Nye began his musical career as a chorister at Gloucester Cathedral and went on to study music at Southlands College, London where he received college awards for composition and his musical contribution to college life . He has, over the last fifteen years, combined a career as a teacher, he is currently Director of Studies at Dumpton School, Wimborne, with his desire to compose. During this time he has written for a wide variety of individuals and groups both in the UK and abroad. He was commissioned by West Sussex County Council to write a large-scale choral and orchestral work for the millennium premiered at Chichester Cathedral on January 4th 2000. His music was also used during celebrations at the Millennium Dome. 2006 has seen Richard share a stage with Sir John Tavener (premiere of From Hambledon's Ridge) and the first performance of a new commission, Colour Poems, by the Cheltenham Bach Choir to mark their 60th year. The piece, set to words by a 10 year old, was part of a 'Gloucestershire Composers Concert' held in June and conducted by Stephen Jackson (who also directs the BBC Singers).

Richard has worked with Dr Michael Varner, a member of the percussion faculty at the University of Texas, Arlington, on a new work, Susvar, for marimba using the tonal structures and rhythms of India. The work is to be published in the United States in the near future. For the up-and-coming duo Ephyra (sax and piano) he wrote Cave Paintings which was premiered at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver in February 2003 and featured on their debut CD Modern Standards – the group has since commissioned a new work Little Creatures which received its premiere at the Pennine Spring Music Festival in June 2004. For the last five years he has been associated with Piano 40 (previously the London Piano Quartet) and his work 8 'til Late for eight hands on two pianos features on their recently released debut CD. His second work for the group, Online was premiered at the SBC in 2004. Piano 40 were featured in the Independent on Sunday with a section focusing on both 8 'til Late and Online.

2005 saw his work Microlites for oboe included in the ABRSM Medals syllabus and third performance of 8 'til Late at the SBC along with and 8 hands version of Eric's Age of Blue, a birthday tribute to the artist and family friend, Eric Mellon. Richard has also written for children (his Christmas songs were sung by the winning choir of 2CRFM's Choir Idol 2005), for orchestra (Icarus in Flight and A New Day) and for stage (music for A Midsummer Night's Dream and the musical Fablemaker). Richard also composes music to accompany media projects.

This Dublin-born soprano possesses a voice of great quality and is establishing herself as a performer of renown in many genres of vocal repertoire.Sylvia began her musical journey at the age of six in the College of Music Chatham Row studying piano and theory. During her time at Trinity College where she read music, Sylvia continued her piano studies while involving herself in nearly every vocal ensemble in Dublin at the time. It wasn't until she began deputising with the National Chamber Choir that she thought to make a career in singing. Sylvia has studied with Irene Sandford at the Royal Irish Academy of Music Dublin, Mimi Freissler and Peter Woss in Vienna and Janice Chapman in London as well as with her father Frank O'Brien. During which time she was recipient of many awards, bursaries and scholarships. She is currently persuing a masters in contemporary vocal techniques at the Dundalk Institute of Media and Technology.

As a soloist and member of the National Chamber Choir (1998-2003), she toured internationally, recorded and broadcasted on television and radio. During this time Sylvia also had the opportunity to work with international conductors and ensembles and perform a variety of musical styles from Gregorian to contemporary.

A regular recitalist around the UK and Europe, Sylvia's repetoire this year includes programs of French song, Spanish (with guitar), Lieder and a tour of Shostakovich Seven Romances Op.127 with the Clara Schumann Trio. She has sung a wealth of the oratorio repetoire with the major choral societies and orchestras in the country. She is in great demand in the contemporary field due to her vocal skill and musicianship. Sylvia has added to her operatic roles in the last year as Jenufa (Jenufa/Janacek), Aspasia (Mitridate/Mozart), Governess (The Turn of the Screw/Britten, Gabriel (Petra von Kant/Barry) premiere, Neither/Feldman and future engagements include Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Konstanze in Die Entfuhrung/Mozart and Grafin in Der Wiener Bluthe/J.Strauss.

Ms O’Brien is a remarkable performer of oratorio repertoire and has been guest soprano with Ireland’s leading choral groups. Her repertoire this season includes Die Schuldigkeit des Ersten Gobots by Mozart with the NDR in Hannover, Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart's great C minor and Mozart’s Exultate Jubilatae conducted by David Agler. Mozart Festival with the Orchestra of St Cecilia, performing Despina in Cosi fanTutte C minor Mass, and the Requiem conducted by Kenneth Montgomery.

Serge Ollive studied orchestra conducting with Jenö REHAK, Arie VAN BEEK, and Uros LAJOVIC. Specialist in the work of Gustav Mahler, his repertoire permit him to conduct also Brahms, Liszt, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Ravel, Puccini, Verdi, Beethoven...

Born in 1977, Serge OLLIVE begins his musical studies in 1995 at the National Conservatory of Marseille (France) where he studies organ in the classes of prof. Annick CHEVALIER-NADDEO (organ) and André ROSSI (improvisation). In 1998 and 1999, he gets Master degrees in musical theory, harmony and Counterpoint. In 2000, he obtains Master degrees in organ and improvisation. Then he perfects himself in the same conservatory and goes also in Lyon where he can follow courses of prof. Louis ROBILLIARD and prof. Jean BOYER. From 1997 to 2007, he was organist at the Cathedral of Gap (France). He made several concerts performances on this organ and is nowadays still regularly invited in the Gap's organ festival. Since 1998, he's invited to play in many festivals as soloist and also with choirs or orchestras. Today, he played more than 300 concerts in the whole France (Marseille, Sisteron, Valence, Montélimar, Grignan, Narbonne, Paris, Boulogne-sur-mer, St Omer, Lyon...) and also in Germany, Switzerland, England and Italy.

Attracted by orchestral music of the 19th and 20th centuries, Serge OLLIVE begins to study conducting with Jenö REHAK in 2000. In 2002, he's invited to conduct the Alpes-Provence Youth Orchestra in Gap (France). The commitee appoint him Musical Director the next year, in 2003. Chief conductor of this orchestra during 4 years, he has conducted large part of repertoire : Mahler : 1st, 4th, 9th symphonies, Kindertotenlieder; Liszt : Eine Faust-sinfonie, Les Préludes; Tchaikovsky : 5th symhpony; Brahms : 4th symphony; Ravel : Daphnis and Chloe; Puccini : La Bohčme; Beethoven : 3rd symphony; and many others such as Mozart, Reger, Wagner, Grieg. Serge OLLIVE conducted his last concert with the Alpes-Provence Youth Orchestra in may 2007 with Verdi Requiem. In the same time he studies with Arie VAN BEEK in Clermont-Ferrand and improves in master-classes with Uros LAJOVIC (University of music and visual arts - Vienna). He conducted at this opportunity the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie of Konstanz (Germany) in Brahms 4th symphony. In 2006 and 2007, Serge OLLIVE teached conducting at the free-time University in Gap and also in private courses.

In 2006, he founds the vocal ensemble "Cantabile" and conducts a lot of sacred music of Duruflé (Requiem, motets), Liszt (Via Crucis), Fauré (Requiem)... He is still Musical Director of this ensemble and goes regularly in France to conduct concerts. Serge OLLIVE has also some creative activities in making transcriptions for organ, piano or orchestra of several repertoire works. He edit his scores himself and sell it by internet. Today, he sells 1000 scores a year in the whole world (England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Russia, Switzerland, Austria, United States, Canada, Japan...)

Richard L. Ortiz is a Chicago-land composer, guitarist, and recently music engraver. Rich holds a master's degree in composition from the Chicago College of Performing Arts where he studied wth Dr. Stacy Garrop. Rich's music has been called fresh and exciting and he has recieved several honors, awards, and commissions. In his compositions, Rich hopes to find that happy medium between metal, punk, electronica and orchestral music writing within the chamber music setting.

Some honors and awards Richard has received include honors for his master’s thesis and orchestral work, Narrow Daylight; third place in the 2004-2005 Seymour and Virginia La Rock Composition Competition for his string quartet Persistence in the Face of Adversity, which has become String Quartet in Two Movements; a teaching assistantship for composition and a Performing Arts scholarship for composition at CCPA; and while at V.U., Richard received the MTNA Student Recognition Award for excellence in teaching, and a music scholarship for guitar performance.
