Name: Quartetto Yanis
Skills: Ensemble
Address: Padova 35124, Italy

The 'Quartetto Yanis' was born in the year 2000 to deeply study and then present in concert the most significant pages in the repertoire of this 'borderline music', where classical music merges into ethnic, jazz and blues music. Therefore, the concert programmes follow versatile paths drawing from diverse genres. The Suite by the French composer C. Bolling, which The Yanis Quartet is presently recording, displays the two-fold musical background of a musician who can master both classical and jazz language with great skill; Piazzolla's pieces, in the Quartet's personal interpretations, also belong to this 'borderline music'. Besides, the Quartet presents their own compositions arranged by the musicians themselves in keeping with their attempt to search for a kind of music freed from tags. The members of the Ensemble have varied musical backgrounds, from classical to pop, ethnic and jazz music. The Quartet has been performing in Italy and abroad acclaimed by critics and audiences alike.
