7.00pm Kostabi World 225 West 22nd Street New York 10011 Details: Gene Pritsker Web site 6465229442 $20 in advance, $30 at the door | Composers Concordance Presents - Jeffryes Brothers The Duo Premieres New Compositions for Piano and Drum Set Jai Jeffryes, piano Lee Jeffryes, drums Composers Concordance For Immediate Release - New York, NY - On Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at 7pm, Composers Concordance presents its first concert of the new year with the Jeffryes Brothers. Brand new compositions written for the unusual combination of piano and drum set. Brothers Jai and Lee Jeffryes have been duking it out for a lifetime. Until now. Pianist Jai and drummer Lee competed for practice time growing up in their mid-Western home when their dad, James, wasn't giving music lessons. For the inaugural concert of the Jeffryes Brothers, they can finally practice in the same room. Featured on the program are two compositions by Gene Pritsker; 'Time Here Becomes Space III' and 'Essence', 'Late Day Thunder' by Peri Mauer and 'Suburbica' by Jai Jeffryes, which channels the Exotica of Martin Denny, reframing it to a mid-Western town not quite so... exotic. Also works by Rick Baitz, Seth Boustead, Vicky Cheng, Lee Jeffryes, Peter Jarvis, Mark Kostabi and Alan Sentman. |
