| Having spent the major part of his life in NY (recently relocated to NH), 'Big Chuck' Dever has been a major and consistent player in the everchanging & innovative world of sound creation, production and overall artistic expression --
In the tradition of the truly great and expressive musical spirits he is an a eclectic mix whose work includes Hendrix-like, beautifully thick-toned chord work, guitar solo work with nods to Joe Satriani, and Jimmy Page. Add to that the orchestral sounds of the grandiose; inevitably calling to mind the echoes of Frank Zappa , Danny Elfman and John Williams.
Incorporating these classic sounds with the cutting-edge technology that is available today, invites comparisons to Trent Reznor (NIN), Moby and the experimentalism of Pink Floyd, the Chemical Bros. or Tool; yet amidst such a cacophony of influences rises a sound all its own ...

| Devashish Dey, one of the rising stars on the horizon of Indian Classical Music, was born in 1964 in Varanasi. Having initially trained under the tutelage of Pt. Pashupati Nath Mishra, an exponent of Banaras Gharana, he has undergone intensive and rigorous training with the veteran octogenarian vocalist Late Pt. Mukund V. Kalvint, who in turn assimilated his enormous repertoire from Padmabhushan Pt. S.N. Ratanjanker of Agra Gharana and from Pt. Rajabhaiya Puchwale, a torchbearer of Gwalior Gharana. In fact, Devashish has interwoven the silken threads of these three leading Gharanas of Hindustani vocal music to evolve a fascinating and harmonious style of his own.
Devashish Dey has a very melodious voice coupled with exquisite tonal structure and remarkably wide range. His renderings display a blend of impeccable Ragdari & flight of emotional imagination. Thus he is an enduring favourite for audiences all over as he has been featured in the prestigious music concerts viz. S.R.A.-ITC Sammelan, Tansen Sangeet Sammelan in Kolkata; I.I.C., Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Habitat in Delhi; Haridas sammelan, N.C.P.A. in Mumbai; Hindustani Sangeet Kalakar Mandali in Bangalore; International convention of Theosophical Society in Chennai; Awadh Sandhya in Lucknow, Arambh at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal; Kumar Gandharva Samaroh at Dewas and has performed nationwide in other cities also, Agra, Allahabad, Patna, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Baroda, to name a few. Not only in country, he has performed in many cities of Europe and got loud applause there and has carved a niche for himself as he worked successfully with western musicians.
He has won the acclaim of discerning critics also. Some excerpts are: “Destined for greatness…A maestro in the making from Varanasi” –The Hindu “Not stars but of star quality”- The Hindu. “A new star appears in the horizon”- The Times of India. “The predominant quality of his presentation was his exuberance, while his dedication & involvement were transparent”- The Hindustan Times. “There was flight & tart, subtly aimed swaras- it was a fearfully true style made his own effort.”- The Sunday Times of India
Devashish Dey's presentation sparkles with the very rare combination of virtuosity with classical purity and a deep sense of aesthetics & emotionalism. His Gayaki is a triumph of a melodious voice coupled with artistic perception. He is equally good in Thumri Gayaki of Purab Ang (Banaras style) and is also sought after for his rich repertoire of Tappa, Dadra, Kazri, Chaiti, Jhoola etc. His Renderings of Bhajan is full of aesthetic depth. Besides being a brilliant performer he has presented own compositions and taught young talents to prove his teaching skills.
