Musica Mundi is a baroque chamber group based in the Southwest of England, specialising in music from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries. It aims to use baroque style and instruments to communicate this exciting music to audiences as vividly as possible.

The core of the group is a chamber ensemble of voice, cello and harpsichord. For larger-scale concerts the group can expand to include full strings and/or wind instruments. It has given concerts in many parts of Britain, and in Europe.

In addition to the Baroque repertoire, members of the group are interested in contemporary writing for early instruments, and have commissioned and given first performances of new music.

Musica Mundi takes considerable care over the planning of its programmes, aiming at variety within programmes of a satisfying overall shape. Programmes can be tailored to the interests of a particular audience if desired.

This exciting young international period instrument orchestra was formed in 2001, giving debut performances in St. James's, Piccadilly and St. Martin-in-the-Fields. The core of Musica Viva comprises present and former students of the world's top music conservatoires.

The ensemble is already gaining widespread recognition and has built up a devoted following in a very short space of time. Musica Viva perform in major London venues and have plans to tour worldwide, beginning with New Zealand and Australia.

Director (recorder player and harpsichordist) Heather Tomala trained at the University of Birmingham and the Royal Academy of Music. A dedicated advocate of Baroque music on 'authentic' as well as modern instruments, her aim is to remove the recorder's battered classroom image once and for all! As a soloist she performs both early and modern works, with new pieces currently being composed especially for her.

Jane Groves (flute) & Eluned Scourfield (harp) formed Mwynion Mai in 1989. The duo performs at about 60 events a year. Many of their bookings are at private functions for both corporate and private clients, ranging from product launches to wedding ceremonies.

Being based in South Wales the duo specialises in Traditional Welsh music but has a full repertoire from Mozart to Metallica!

As well as perfoming recitals for various organisations the Duo also stages and promotes its own concerts, details of which are posted on their home page along with details of the recordings.

Sandro Naglia, born in 1965, graduated from the Academy of Music in Pescara (Italy), and is Bachelor in Arts from Rome University. He attended Master Classes given by P. Esswood, J. Hamari, E. Werba, C. Desderi, and studied at the Britten-Pears School in Aldeburgh (Great Britain) with A. Rolfe-Johnson and S. Walker. He made his debut in 1987 at the Carcano Theatre in Milan singing Falla's El retablo de Maese Pedro, and two years later he distinguished himself in Monteverdi's Vespers of the Blessed Virgin conducted by Sir J. E. Gardiner in London, Venice and Bath Festival, recorded by DG-ARCHIV.

Since then, he has sung throughout Europe, North and South America, Asia, regularly appearing in opera houses (Monte-Carlo, Rome, Bologna, Palermo, Ferrara), major festivals (Edinburgh, Flanders, San Sebastiàn, Schwetzingen, Utrecht) and concert seasons (Academy of S. Cecilia in Rome, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Konzerthaus Berlin, Radio France, WDR, Société Philharmonique de Bruxelles, S. Petersbourg Philharmonic, Frick Collection in New York) under such conductors as Sir J.E. Gardiner, S. Preston, G. Gelmetti, G. Ferro, S. Bedford, M. de Bernart, A. Ballista, C. Desderi, R. Since 1996 he regularly teaches in Master Classes and seminars in Italy and abroad: from this ambit I Corpi Celesti (a project of theatre in music) started in 2000. William Malachi Nathan was born in San Diego,California, USA. At the age of seven, he began to play the violin in elementary school; after experimenting with instruments he made himself. Then in junior high school, he progressed to the bass violin. In high school, he played the tuba and the baritone in the St. Augustine High School Marching Band and eventuallye to electric bass to play in various local R&B and jazz groups. While growing up,William studied the technique of the Double Bass violin at the Coady School of Music in San Diego,CA. He attended college at University of California, San Diego as a part-time student and faculty staff member.

From there, William moved to Los Angeles, California and began performing with such great artists as Ronnie Laws. He then moved on to collaborate with many greats like: Bennie Maupin, BlackByrd McKnight, Ray Johnson, King Ernest, Bobby Lyle, Mayuto Correa, Ndugu Chancler, Ellis Hall, Willie Bobo, Gabor Szabo, Alphonse Mouzon, Alex Ligertwood, formerly the lead vocalist for the Carlos Santana group, Rick Latham, a drummer who performs with Edgar Winter, Lovely Previn, violinist and the daughter of Andre Previn.

Willam Nathan has been involved with many enriching opportunities, such as The 75th Annual Academy Awards Show in the USA where he was privileged to perform onstage with Queen Latifah and Catherine Zeta-Jones in their award winning song from CHICAGO,"I'll Move On", photo shoots with celebrities like Kenny G, musician spots on The Ally McBeal Show, and a movie, Three to Tango, and was featured on the Amiel Larrieux video: "Sweet Misery", shown nationwide on BET’s Midnight Love Videos. Ndugu Chancler (Drummer) is featured on one of William’s CDs titled "Black Mink Bass".William has presented his most recent producing-writing and arranging on his new released CD entitled: "I‘m The Man". Dominic Natoli made his first public appearance at age five, and subsequently joined the Australian Boys' Choir, achieving success as a soloist. He later studied with renowned Italian Baritone Afro Poli, until he travelled to Vienna where he studied at the Vienna Conservatorium of Music, graduating with a first class honours Diploma of Opera. He has studied with Carol Blaickner-Mayo in Vienna and with Nicholas Powell, David Harper, and Ludmilla Andrew in London.

His numerous awards include first prize in the Alfredo Kraus International Singing Competition; the prestigious Dame Joan Sutherland Scholarship which he has been awarded twice; and an Arts Fellowship from the Queensland Government. He also holds degrees in Law and Economics.

Dominic's operatic engagements have been with numerous companies in Australia, Austria, Germany, France, USA, Ireland, and the U.K., including Opera Australia, Victoria State Opera, Opera Queensland, Holland Park Opera, Anna Livia International Festival, and English National Opera. His operatic repertoire includes Tamino, Don Ottavio, Idomeneo, the Steuermann, Loge, Ernesto, Nemorino, Edgardo, Don Josè, Ismael, Alfredo Germont, Riccardo, Cavaradossi, Prunier, Rodolfo, and Des Grieux.

The New York Choral Society, founded in 1958, has earned a reputation as New York’s leading avocational chorus. It has become known by audiences and critics for the quality of its performances and the diversity of its repertoire, which encompasses popular choral masterworks as well as many compositions rarely heard in concert halls. Over the years the Society has presented ten world premiers including works commissioned by Morton Gould, Paul Alan Levi, Joelle Wallach and Robert DeCormier, noted composer, arranger and Music Director Emeritus of the New York Choral Society, which he conducted for seventeen years.

The Society is frequently in demand as guest artists, most recently appearing in its ninth appearance at the Richard Tucker Music Foundation Gala in Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center televised nationally on Public Broadcasting System TV stations. Other recent guest performances include appearing with Andrea Bocelli at Liberty State Park, which was broadcast live on the Public Broadcasting System, in the History Channel's 'Time Machine' at South Street Seaport, and its third appearance on the NBC Today TV show. In November 1999 the Society appeared along with pop music diva Celine Dion in her farewell concert broadcast from Radio City Music Hall. Additional guest appearances have included performances with the American Composers Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony, Juilliard Symphony (with world renowned Jahja Ling conducting), Lincoln Center Festival (with Yehudi Menuhin conducting), New Jersey Symphony, New York City Ballet (with Leonard Bernstein conducting), New York Philharmonic, Opera Orchestra of New York, and at the 1998 Grammy Awards, singing with Aretha Franklin who substituted for an ailing Luciano Pavarotti. The New York Choral Society has been privileged to perform with some of the most noted symphonic and choral conductors including: Sergiu Comissiona, Dennis Russell Davies, Lukas Foss, Jaja Ling, Eduardo Mata, Zubin Mehta, Yehudi Menuhin, Steven Mercurio, John Nelson, Daniel Oren, Robert Page, Eve Queler, Julius Rudel, Robert Shaw, Leonard Slatkin, Robert Spano, Roger Wagner and Hugh Wolff. The Society is proud of its collaboration with Peter, Paul & Mary; A Holiday Celebration with Peter, Paul & Mary has been broadcast annually on PBS since 1988. This popular holiday show has been performed live in Carnegie Hall for the last fifteen years.

The Society frequently tours; members visited the Czech Republic and Greece in 1998 and in August 1995 participated in the Zimriya Festival in Jerusalem. Other tours have taken the chorus to Austria, Yugoslavia and Norway. In July 2001 the Choral Society made a very successful tour to China where they performed the Verdi Requiem and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Shanghai Grand Theater and a concert of all American music at the New Century Theater in Beijing.

Born in 1975, Robin's passionate belief in excellence has attracted increasing attention over the last few years and he has worked with a number of groups including the Amadeus Orchestra, the Edgware Symphony Orchestra and the Colne Valley Youth Orchestra.

His reputation as an imaginative and daring musician has been underlined by his Music Directorship of e2K, a young ensemble committed to drawing together the music of the 20th century. Robin's has already given a number of world and British premieres of works by Christopher Ball, Alan Bullard and David Lewiston Sharpe.

Robin studies with Christopher Adey and has had consultations with Mark Wigglesworth alongside masterclasses with George Hurst, Benjamin Zander and Odaline de la Martinez.

Robin continues to compose and write about music. He works as an editor for the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians and has written for HarperCollins.

Here is a talented young British pianist who plays with individuality and flair! Beatrice is a young energetic talent of just twenty one years old and a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, in London.

Her performances are natural and charismatic. She has played in a number of UK venues including Snape Maltings, Blythburgh Church, The Purcell Room, Royal Festival Hall, St. Giles-on-the-field in London, St.David’s Cathedral, Hastings White Rock Theatre, Leeds Town Hall,Lindbury Studio at the Royal Opera House.

Her artistry and innovation is refreshing, and her diversity special. These traits have led her to projects that are not always exclusively classical. She has performed her own popular- styled compositions in concerts and at celebrity events. Not stopping at that, Beatrice has played in many styles of classical,jazz,avant-garde,musical theatre,Romany, gamelan and gospel. With classical repetoire she has had many competition successes with performances of Rachmaninov and Debussy,including the much loved Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto no.2. Whilst still a teenager, the Royal College of Music Junior Department awarded her the Constance Poupard prize for "pianistic excellence" and the Peter Morrison Prize for her performance of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. She laster recieved the the Eric Brough Memorial Prize from the Royal Academy of Music.

Not satisfied with just being a pianist, Beatrice also conducts and composes. She has written music for members of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Marks and Spencers and for dancers at the Young Place in London. Last spring she was associate conductor at Camden’s Music Centre Sinfonia, London.

Composer, stage director, conductor, musicologist and professor Dimitri Nicolau was born in Keratea (Greece) and naturalized Italian, he resides and works in Rome. Besides his musical studies in Greece and in France he has done researches in the vast field of popular music with particular interest in the Mediterranean and Balkan area. In 1967 his opposition to the regime of the Greek colonels got him political asylum from the Italian state.

Graduated also in cinematography in the Experimental Center of Cinematography in Rome (C.S.C ) he has practiced this profession for some years without yet interrupting composition, collaborating with different directors. He has frequented the faculty of Modern Letters in Rome University. Fundamental for his artistic formation is the relationship with the theory and the Collective Analysis of Massimo Fagioli in Rome.

From 1959, the year in which he begins to compose, he reaches today a catalog of over 290 compositions including 3 Operas, 5 Symphonies for large Orchestra, numerous Concerts for Soloist and Orchestra, many works for plucked string orchestra, for soloist and chamber ensembles, many works for Voice, ballet music. Besides that, he has composed sound tracks for cinema, television and radio, music and songs for infancy and over a 100 scores for the prose theater.

The Romanian / Finnish composer Teodor Nicolau was born on 16th of March 1947 in Turda – Romania. He studied violin in Cluj and in Bucharest and received his graduation diploma at Avy Abramovich’s class in 1971; he also studied violin in France (Christian Ferras). Between 1976-1979 he studied at conductor’s class of J. Panula at Sibelius Akatemia in Helsinki and followed the master-classes of Sergiu Celibidache in Germany. During his early years in Romania, he studied composition with Celestin Cherebetiu in Cluj, and was an active audient member at Anatol Vieru’s composition class in Academia de Muzica of Bucharest. During his conductor studies in Helsinki, Einar Englud, his instrumentation professor, guided Teodor Nicolau into composition as well.       He played as violinist in George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra (1971-1975) and ever since 1976 he has been playing the violin in The Helsinki Philharmonic Orkestra. The band-doitmusic-(Vasilis Nicolopoulos.) exists about 15 years.His musical education started by learning Traditional Greek String instrument bouzouki,followed by a few years of piano lessons and a few years of drum and guitar lessons.After that,he studied sound engineering(S.A.E. college)and digital sound production techniques(MEDIA college)in London.He created a band there(Depends)and stayed for four years.Later he worked as a Main Sound Engineer at Live Audio Concerts with mainstream artists.At the present he is doing music productions and compositions,creations with electronic sound base,mostly mixed with acoustic traditional instruments,but not only!The creations could be dance,ethnic,a rock baland,an industrial,or a pop soundy piece.Could Be Gothic Or Hard trance...Could be Anything!For now just try to hear,not to listen
