Songs for a Summer's Eve

Collegium Musicum of London Chamber Choir, conducted by Greg Morris

Rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the capital’s most accomplished chamber choirs, Collegium Musicum of London makes its first visit to the atmospheric Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell with a varied and colourful programme of a cappella songs, inspired by the summer sunshine.

Works by Vaughan Williams, Sullivan, Weelkes and Rutter, alongside popular Beach Boys classics and clever Gershwin arrangements will show off the versatile ensemble’s musical dexterity. With a great selection of up-beat and off-beat tunes, a terrific venue and a free glass of fizz thrown in, what better way to while away a summer’s night?

East Neuk Festival

Classical, jazz, world music and al fresco art on the Fife coast, in quirky, atmospheric and special venues, from churches, halls, an ex-nuclear bunker, caves, an RAF base and a Scout hut to stately homes and gardens ...

The heart of the ENF is intimate chamber music, but the festival is eclectic: world, jazz, folk, contemporary, early, choral and electronica all have their places. ENF has also commissioned films, exhibitions, public art and installations and literature events.

West Cork Chamber Music Festival

'There's something to be said about chamber music played in a real chamber. A chamber, in fact, that was already elderly when most of the music was written ... The chamber, in actuality, the library of the elegant Bantry House was the setting, and the entirety was magnificent.' - Kelly Ferjutz at the 2007 West Cork Chamber Music Festival

Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi

Spoleto's 'Festival of the Two Worlds', an annual international music, art and culture event, was founded in 1958 by Italian composer Gian Carlo Menotti. Menotti was artistic director of the festival until the mid-1990s, when he handed over the reigns to his adopted son, Francis Menotti. But as soon as Gian Carlo Menotti died in 2007, there were various legal wrangles about the festival's future, and Francis eventually had to give up attempting to reclaim it from a group of people including Italian film and theatre director Giorgio Ferrara, who was assigned as the new artistic director by the Italian government.

Aspen Music Festival and School

Founded in 1949, the Aspen Music Festival and School is regarded as one of the top classical music festivals in the United States, noted both for its concert programming and its musical training of mostly young-adult music students. The typical eight-week summer season includes more than 400 classical music events, including concerts by five orchestras, solo and chamber music performances, fully staged opera productions, master classes, lectures, and children's programming, and brings in 100,000 audience members. In the winter, the AMFS presents a small series of recitals and Metropolitan Opera Live in HD screenings.
